EcoVadis Announcement
Greystone is proud to share that we have earned a Bronze Medal from EcoVadis in recognition of our commitment to sustainability!
We’re especially proud of the strides we’ve made in the Environment theme—our most improved area—with a remarkable 15-point increase from last year.
This achievement highlights the dedication of our entire team and reinforces our commitment to responsible business practices. We’re inspired to keep advancing and enhancing our sustainability efforts.
What is EcoVadis?
EcoVadis is a world leading platform for evaluating the sustainability and CSR performance of companies. Their platform has a growing network of more than 150,000 companies that participate in EcoVadis’ sustainability evaluation process. EcoVadis enables companies to manage, measure, and improve their performance across the entire value chain.
Companies across the globe use EcoVadis to:
-
Monitor supplier sustainability
-
Meet regulatory and investor expectations
-
Drive continuous improvement
-
Ensure transparency in ESG (Environment, Social and Governance) performance
What does EcoVadis Evaluate?
EcoVadis assesses a company’s sustainability performance across four key categories:
-
Environment
-
Labor & Human Rights
-
Ethics
-
Sustainable Procurement
The evaluation for each category provides detailed feedback on a company’s strength and areas for improvement. This targeted evaluation helps organizations identify specific opportunities to enhance their sustainability practices.
Companies are given an overall score and can be awarded with medals – bronze, silver, gold or platinum – based on their percentile ranking against all globally rated companies. With medals awarded solely by percentile, it emphasizes the need for continuous improvement each year to keep pace with global sustainability action.
Greystone’s Roadmap to EcoVadis Certification
Greystone’s Performance
This year, Greystone earned a Bronze Medal from EcoVadis. Overall, Greystone is among the top 35% of companies rated worldwide. Our most improved theme from last year’s score was Environment. This category saw a 15-point increase driven by the implementation of new environmental policies, obtaining ISO 14001 and having our CO2 emission reduction targets verified by SBTi.
Future Sustainability Efforts
Greystone is committed to strengthening the sustainability performance of its existing systems, including Environmental Management Systems, Health & Safety, and Information Security. With defined targets now in place for carbon emission reduction, we’re also focused on driving meaningful actions that align with our sustainability goals and commitments.
As part of our ongoing efforts, Greystone will undergo an annual EcoVadis evaluation. This provides stakeholders with a measurable report that demonstrates our progress and reinforces our dedication to continuous improvement on sustainability.
Greystone’s efforts in emission reduction
Reducing emissions and improving energy efficiency are central to Greystone’s Environmental Management System. Our environmental objectives, outlined below, demonstrate our commitment to lowering energy consumption and achieving our verified SBTi goals.
We’ve already made meaningful progress in reducing our Scope 1 emissions. In May, Greystone moved into a new facility that no longer relies on propane heating and features solar energy collection to help offset energy use. Additional energy-efficient upgrades – such as heat pumps and enhanced insulation – further reduce our on-site energy demands and emissions.
Looking ahead, our next steps include refining our data collection processes and developing a detailed action plan to drive further emissions reductions with special emphasis on those within Scope 3.
